I'm due for the first oil change on my new-to-me 2001 V92C. Looks like enough info on here for me to pull that off easily enough.

While I'm at it, I want to take a look inside at the clutch...to make sure it's adjusted properly. That too looks very simple from what I can read and see on line.

But..the main question I have is: Once I take the cover off to get at the clutch, will I be needing to replace a gasket or o-ring? If so, where the heck would I find a replacement....and what size are we talking about?

If your plan is to open up primary cover to take a look at clutch assy. you will need to get a replacement gasket to prevent any leaks. Keep in mind.....we are talking about removing whole primary cover to look at clutch assy....you cannot view it by removing round cover plate. The round one only there for looks.

It is not like the Harley clutch cover.

Besides you don't adjust the clutch that way.
You do it by the cable.
You should spend some money and buy a service manual before you break something or miss adjust something.

Yes...if actually need to adjust.....look on right side of bike behind rear cylinder...under side cover. Cable itself can be adjusted there....
Your in Katy...Heck...just come by and I will adjust it for you!

Thanks, Noe. I DO have the service manual and took a look last night. Seriously doesn't look like anything inside that primary cover that I'm qualified to mess with.

I DID take a look at adjusting the clutch cable a couple of weeks ago, but it appears to be adjusted properly.

I'm just having a hard time wrapping my head around how small the friction zone is. I can ride it just fine...but was hoping to get more of a gradual/extended zone. That just may not be possible or necessary.

I know you're just down the road from me Noe. I certainly would love to bring the bike by and let you get on it - see what you think...figure out if it's just something I need to get used to, or if you think something's up with the clutch.

Or, even easier, I'm hoping to make this weekend's BCVR meeting if I can figure out where/when. If you're there, maybe you can find a couple of minutes to have a look?

Keep in mind you can not adjust a clutch when its hot or even warm you have to do it when its cold.
Grab the clutch "cable" where it goes into the lever housing and see how far out you can pull the "cable"
If the cable comes out a 1/16" to a 1/8" your where you should be.
