I know this is beating a dead horse but....

I live nowhere near a dealer and need an oil change. I have narrowed it down to Amsoil 10/40, Amsoil 20/50, or Maxima 10/40, Maxima 20/50. I know one of the complaints about Amsoil is that it's full synthetic, the Maxima is a synthetic blend. I live in Louisiana and it gets really hot in the summer and gets in the 20-30's in the winter. I ride pretty much year round and I do take long rides as well. Which one would yall recommend?

You can get Vic oil shipped - but, I would go with the 20/50 Amsoil in summer - 10/40 in winter

I actually emailed Amsoil and they recommend the 10w-40 for the Victorys.

Thanks again

I wrote this in another thread and will post it here as well. I live in one of the hottest places in the country where it gets over 110 60+ days a year.

Run whatever oil you want but there have been some complaints about full synthetics. Two popular choices are Victory oil (of course) and the Rotella semi-synth 10/30. I live in a hot area so I don't want to go lower in weight so I use a mix of Rotella dino (white jug) x/40 and Rotella full synth (blue jug) x/40. Both are rated JASO MA so they match up just right for bikes that run an internal wet clutch. I just changed my oil today and didn't use a bit of oil in the 4400 miles since the 500 miles change. Didn't have any shifting or clutch issues at during that time that wouldn't be considered normal. But don't let me shift this thread to yet another oil thread. :D

All the Rotella oils are available at Walmart.

Thanks, I wasnt trying to start another "which oil" thread but I have been searching for 2 days and had not heard anything about mixima oil. It is a syn blend and one place recommended it to me but I wanted to get some input.

What percentage do you mix your oil? How much dino oil to how much synthetic oil?
