Planning a trip for next summer, I want to go though the Ozarks. I will be coming from the South, from a family visit in San Antonio, Texas.
What would be a good South to North route? Is there more than one?
I will be happy to break out the wac LOL.
Thanks in advanced,

Loren

I should add that interstate highways are not my favorite. Great for getting from point A to point B, but, I like to see the small town America. Well traveled blacktop, scenic is the fav.

OK...you said San Antonio in the south to begin, but where do you want to end up at?

Sorry,

Heading to Licking/Rolla, Missouri, more family to visit.
Arkansas web-sight recommends SR 7 from El Dorado. I was just wondering what the locals like to ride. I will not be pressed for time,
this is one of those bucket list trips. On to my hometown in Southwest
Minnesota, Mount Rushmore, S.D. not sure after that, still planning.:)

Thanks,

Loren

Highway 7 is pretty good and runs the entire state north to south. Just past Russellville is a little town called Ozone with a great BURGER JOINT (actually it's called, Ozone Burger Barn)...you'll be glad you stopped.

Hwy 23 is a GREAT highway to ride on if you like twisties.

When you are on Hwy 7 and go past Deer, AR turn LEFT (west) and head over to Pettigrew, AR (Hwy 16) on your way Hwy 9 (which takes you NORTH again). That road from Deer to Pettigrew is REAL interesting.
