I have a standard XC so my lovely Bride has to tough it out and use footpegs. I would love to add floorboards for her to use but not at over 300 buck a roonies for the XC Tour floorboards from Victory. Vindex repurposed some old ones and they look great so I'm asking you all for pictures or ideas or maybe if you've upgraded the passenger footboards on your XC Tour give me shout.

I've seen the "universal" fit ones on J&P and Ebay for less than 50$ and I'm considering them. I don't even care if they are chrome, I've got a can of bedliner and I'm not afraid to use it :grin the important thing is they fold up when not in use and don't look too awfully ugly although ugly like a woman in a bar at 0200 is negotiable. :devil

My Wife loves to ride with me and the 2 things I want to add for her are the Tour seat and the floorboards. She's really small so the Tour seat isn't a priority but the floorboards are. She sat on a Tour and loved the floorboards but thought the seat might be too wide. Before I pull the trigger on that one, I'll borrow a Tour seat for a day and let her decide.

I've had a little stomach bug for a couple days but felt well enough yesterday afternoon to go for a little ride. We got caught in a huge thunderstorm; rain, wind, lightning, the whole enchilada with extra sauce and cheese. :laugh We had no rain gear and one jacket liner which I of course deferred to her. We hid out in a Home Depot for a half hour and bought some cheap rain gear there and a couple cheap sweatshirts from a Walgreens across the street and we wore them under our mesh riding gear. We then rode home 30 miles in a sometimes downpour with 30 MPH winds on side roads.

The whole time she never complained(and we use Sena 10 S's so I'd know) and I don't mind riding in the rain but the conditions were a little hairy AND she was with me. I almost stopped a couple of times and put her in a cab it was so bad. However, I'd think about it and it would get a bit better. The last 5 miles it got serious, I was off the freeway and battling a 20 MPH crosswind and a torrential downpour and had to ride through a low spot with about a foot and a half of water in it. It was over my floorboards and the pipes sounded like a motorboat. We made it home safe and she told me she wasn't even nervous as she knew I'd stop if I thought it was dangerous. The big Vic never missed a beat and brought us home safe. The more I ride her the more I love her (the Cross Country).

I use Kuryakuyn SwingWings with the proper metric adapter. My wife loves them, especially having the "highway" peg option.

I agree. I also use the swingwings and my wife is very happy with them. They fold up and out of the way, work well as a small floorboard and they "wing" out to give her a bit more stretch ability if she wants it.

I will change the driver to the insert to match down the road. Cost was 225 total, the do have black if you don't want chrome or want to change drivers.
