Hi
I have a 2010 jackpot that sat in the dealers until I bought it last year.
I've ridden in the rain twice since it has cover 2600miles.
Now the paint in-between the cylinder cool in fins is peeling.
I don't think I get warrantee on this as the bike is now 4 years old, despite me purchasing it with no miles on last year.
Has anyone had this happen?
Can I get the original paint from somewhere to rectify this?

I love my Jackpot with a passion but am gutted that it seems to be prone to premature ageing via peeling paint.

Are you talking about the black on the motor then? I haven't heard of anyone having that problem before. It may be covered under warranty. Didn't you get some kind of warranty since you bought it basically new from them.
You could just clean it up good and repainted the affected area. It isn't real difficult.

Rabbit- I pressure hosed some of the black paint off the edge on my engine fins in a couple of places. I've had many many years pressure hose cleaning my bikes over the years so I was surprised it came off so easily. Simply go to a hardware/paint shop, buy some matt black heat resistant paint, and a very very fine paint brush that you can buy from toy shops where they sell models planes and stuff, and touch it up yourself. You can do a fin at a time by masking the fin. It does the job great and no one can tell the difference.

look for VHT wrinkle paint it will be the closest to factory

We won't be worrying about paint on cooling fins on future Victorys. They won't even have fins as they will be liquid cooled. Check the latest issue of Motorcyclist magazine. I just received my July issue and there is a full page about the water cooled Vics. Looks like the first to roll out might be a Judge lookalike. Or that could be Ma Vic intentionally misleading us again.

yes the black around the fins on the motor.
And I did use a pressure washer - I wont be doing that again!

I'll try some VHT wrinkle paint. I guess I'll mask off with pin stripe tape to keep the fin edges clear of paint.

Oh yes. This was discussed over on the club forum some time back.

In looking at these drawings I see a Honda VTX engine in a Victory frame, etc.

I think the external twin shocks are a step back in time.

I'm not going to pontificate about something I have no knowledge of as Ma Vic keeps new products very close to her vest until she wants you to know. This move was inevitable ever since Indian hit the market and caused an overlap in the Polaris family. Add to that the tightening of emission standards in Europe, where Ma Vic wants to make inroads. Polaris execs have been saying for some time now that the Victory line is headed for big changes. So I'm gonna wait by the mailbox for that letter to come and not try to guess beforehand what's gonna be in it. Patience my friends.
