Is there any pros or cons to powder coating things such as fenders and the gas tank? Thinking of going matte black on the tank, fenders and so on. I know very little about powder coating. Was wondering if powder coating them would be better then paint.
They put your tank and fender and back it at I believe 250 degrees.
I have never hear of any one doing tanks and fenders. Go to a painter.
Look up power coaters on the net and see what you can find.
Just thought about the fuel pump in the vic's tank. Honda has the simple petcock set up and it was an easy tear down so I don't know how much work would it be to take it all apart on a vic tank?
Buddy of mine did it to the tins on his yamaha, and it looks great. his only complaint is that he did flat black, and the texture makes it harder to clean. he actually left a stripe of gloss black down the middle, and if you wax that stripe and the wax gets in the texture of the powder coat, it's next to impossible to remove. just some food for thought!
