I've been started to use my stereo for music when it's parked and I'm concerned about draining the battery. Someone mentioned some sort of monitoring contraption that would monitor the charge in the battery and if it got too low would shut off power. Anyone know of such a contraption and where I might find one or instructions on building one? Many thanks!

This will work, i have an older style, so when you switch on your contact this thing will show you how much power you still have

Since you are a neighbor....I hope you'll be a good neighbor and limit that radio to when you are alone or only with others who appreciate your choice of music.

In the cases, I've done this, I'm either out camping or outside in a parking lot and in both cases no source of power.
Then THIS is your solution sir

I think these, for example, are the kinds of devices that you're looking for:

[ame]https://www.amazon.com/Galley-Power-LLC-Voltage-Disconnect/dp/B0147DYUN8[/ame]

[ame]https://www.amazon.com/PriorityStart-12-Volt-Pro-SP-Automatic-Battery-Protector/dp/B0030A10V0[/ame] i.e.,

Google something such as car battery auto discconnect and you'll find some more. No experience with this kind of device -- just reporting.

Yep! That was the kind of device I was looking for. I ordered the second one on your list and will install it when I do my stereo upgrades.

Thanks for the heads up!!
