Hello all. I rode my 2007 Jackpot home with very little fuel left and the next day I got sick for a week so did't ride those days. When I got better I went to start it up and it just cranked but no start so I realized that maybe the little fuel it had left evaporated so I got gas and filled the tank to the top and cranked away with no luck. I've tried it with the idle switch on, off, half-way, throttle, no throttle, half-way throttle. I checked the plugs and there is spark and I hear the fuel pump turn on when I turn the key or cycle the kill switch so I don't know what else to do or to look for :confused:

From the owners manual:

Priming the Fuel System
If the motorcycle runs out of fuel, prime the fuel system before attempting to restart the
engine.
1. Fill the fuel tank.
2. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
3. Move the engine stop/run switch from the STOP position to the RUN position.
4. Allow the fuel pump to run until it stops (about 3 seconds).
5. Move the engine stop/run switch to the STOP position.
6. Wait 10 seconds to allow the engine control module to reset.
7. Repeat steps 3-6 four to five times.

I would guess that there is either air in the fuel pump/system or debris blocking the fuel pump intake.

When the fuel pump runs does it sound the same as it did before? I disconnected my fuel line before and had to turn the key on and off several times until I heard the pump had gas in it again. You will be able to hear it.

If that isn't the problem then I would make sure fuel is being pumped out of the tank. Your owners manual tells you how to remove the tank but all you have to do is disconnect the fuel line. Aim it into a glass jar (or a plastic jar that is safe for gas). Then when you turn the key on you will see gas spew out into the jar. My guess is that it won't but this is a simple way to see if your fuel pump is working or if there is a problem in you FI system.

If gas doesn't come out then I'd suspect you have to take your tank off and clean the port where the fuel goes into the pump.

That did it. I guess there was either air in the fuel line or in the pump system because no matter how many times I primed the pump it wouldn't start but it's all good now. Thanks!
