Smoking meat is expensive, charcoal, wood, etc. I like to use pecan wood or hickory so I have to buy it. I use to use mesquite wood and go of the caprock and cut it myself. But I sold the place that I could just drive right to it. I have another place but have to go across the creek bed and the place is very sandy. Plus mesquite burns very hot and will burn out your firebox a lot faster. It takes more pecan wood to smoke something because it doesn't burn near as hot and has a better smoke taste. Oak is in-between the 2 for heat and the flavor is good but coast the same as the other woods I smoke with. Now hickory, apple any woods like that cost more and I have to get it in a shorter length to fit my firebox on my smoker.

I could not stand it any longer, I got a haircut. I called up a friend that is a barber and asked if she would give me a haircut. She said yes come to the house she's afraid to open her shop. So I'm good for a month anyway and I don't look like Einstein when I get up in the morning.

30 degrees and light snow is what the weather departments is saying right now. Back into the high 70's in a couple of days, 80's next week.

If I were an investor I'd be watching this company closely. I believe they are building the framework for how all vehicles will be made in the future by using several base lower chassis that can accomodate any number of upper body styles and configurations including sedans, taxis, off-roader's, busses, big rig trucks, etc. etc. Repairs will be crazy simple too for broken motors and wheel connected parts. They will come off as a unit and either replaced as a unit or replace the broken individual parts. Since they would be universal depending on platform; replacing the unit then sending them off to the repair section or facility would be the fastest for the customer.

It is going to be 80 Sunday with low winds so I'll probably go riding a while. I hope their right about the wind, they have been way off all this week.

It's Saturday and I need to get out side and do a few things. 10 to 15 mph winds with gust up tp 30mph I have got to where I hate the wind. I don't know why I have lived with it most of my life. The wind hasn't been near as bad this year as it was last year. We had bad sand storms last year and that prompt me to seal up the Cantina much better. I'm sure it has help a lot, but we haven't had any bad sandstorms yet this year for me to tell. None of those days when the wind is gusting 65, 70 mph. I'm going to ride a while tomorrow and in the evening I'm going to throw a rib eye on the grill. Just one, they are big bone in thick stakes and my wife and I will split it. There is no way I can eat the whole steak anymore. They are going to start reducing the coronavirus restrictions in Texas, But I'm not sure about right here. We have been hit pretty hard, but nothing like some areas in the U.S.A. Well what do you have planned for the weekend?

Wife and I always split rib eyes these days. How do you divide it? She likes about 1/3 of the total, all lean. This works for me.

That's about how we do it. There use to be a bar in Post, TX that had a rib eye night a 16 oz. steak with all the fixings for 15 dollars. You could pay a few bucks for just a plate with the fixings and we would split the steak. In the summer the bar parking lot was full of motorcycles. It was a big thing, bike night kind of deal. But the bar changed hands and it ended.

It's Thursday morning and it's about like last Thursday morning. I'm going to mow the front yard today and water some. It's suppose to be about 85 today with gust up to 30mph, not bad really. I've been working on the front porch. I've replaced the top deck and need to redo the step. I need to replace at least one of the step stringers, but dread going to buy it. I hear you can wait as long as a hour to get in to the stores to buy something. I don't have the material here to built one. So I guess I need to get up and out early one morning and go get what I need and finish it up. That will really though off my routine. I seldom get dressed before noon anymore, but I don't have to anymore. LOL

It's been weird out on the Southern California Freeways the last few weeks. Traffic in what is the "normal" rush hour is moving at 70+ MPH.
I have to go to our warehouse in LA today and it will only take me about 35 minutes when normally it's well over an hour.
The CHP was giving out tickets the other day and several of them were for over 100 MPH on Hwy 5.

Weird times!!!

Understanding negative oil prices

Thought you might like this explanation of negative oil prices... The below analogy of the oil crash put on simple terms for those of you not understanding negative oil prices Why WTI traded at -$40... Imagine the following...you pay $500 today and commit to receiving an escort at your house in fifteen days, because your girlfriend will then be traveling... Unfortunately, quarantine came and your girlfriend will be home for the next 3 months... Like all girlfriends from all over the world... You do not want this woman to show up at your house at all and try to pass this future contract to someone... Only you cannot sell this commitment because nobody can receive the escort at home anymore. Everyone is with their respective girlfriends. To make matters worse, not even the pimp has more room to receive girls because his house is crowded with other call girls. So you must pay someone to take your $500 escort off your hands the day before she shows up at your house... I did not write this but I did laugh out loud when I read it.

Temperatures are going to be in the 80's and 90's this week. They are predicting 101 degrees Friday. Friday will be a good day to see how well the new 12,000 BTU A/C works in the Cantina. First day of May in the hundreds is a good sign that we will have a hot summer. Which could help knock down the coronavirus. I really hate not having people over for Saturday parties. I have been doing it for years and truly enjoy it most of the time. Now doing a fish fry on a upper 90 degree day can be a little taxing.

Agree. I've recently given up over there. It's gone from a relatively informative motorcycle site to one you just have to shake your head at and stay out of to maintain your sanity. The major threads are full of close-minded &%^#$$&'s that only get their news from a twitter account and degrade every conversation into a name calling contest. Neither side can claim the high road.

I been sticking my head in there occasionally as its so bleedin' quiet in here, and thought I might find someone there with a clue how to wire an XR tach into a VEGAS, got a bit of info but not enough for me to boldly start cutting and joining wires.
Soon as politics is "discussed" the knives come out in either site, I stay right out of it unless Im desperate for a laugh!
I dont give a rats arse about politics or religion.
