I have read several people talking about cutting the airbox out with wire saws, hobby knifes, box cutters, etc.

Is there a way to do it without removing the engine and keeping the airbox in tact?

for example, on 90's transverse mounted v6 engines, one could remove the dog bone and rotate the engine forward to gain access to the back cylinders.

There has got to be another way.
