I have the honor of crusing the back roads of our county with Half_Crazy and he leads me on some awesome adventures. While I have lived here a number of years, I don't know the roads nearly as well as he does nor can I remember the routes that he takes on these rides.
I'd like to be able to duplicate some of them when he is not available as an escort and am therefore looking for an app that will allow me to "track" our rides and then replay them whenever I want.
I have the Victory Rides app and the My Tracks app (Android) and both work well to track a particular event. The problem is that there is no way (that I can find) to go back and do it again, using the app as a guide...or road map to recreate the ride.
Does anyone have an app or tool/device that they use for this purpose?

You have one up on me. I have the app as well, but since it has only crashed when I attempt to track a ride- obviously I'm not happy with it thus far. Galaxy S4 on ICS at the moment. So I moved the app to device storage hoping it would work better next time. If if crashes again, its outta there. .

Ride tracking

Dude,
Thanks for helping me kill a few hours at work! Creating this type of an app was an obsession of mine for a little while, until the Victory app killed my enthusiasm (saw a few similar apps coming out). The Victory app sucked, but by that time I had found a few others. The best I was able to find (almost a year ago) was MotionX GPS. Unfortunately, it's an iPhone app, which I was using at the time. I switched to an Android, and haven't been able to find anything as nice.

An app called Track Navigator looks similar, but not quite as polished. I downloaded it to try on my commute, etc. One thing it does seem to have is a link to a track repository where Crazy could upload tracks and you could download them to use later. Not sure how well that function works, but it's definitely something I'd love to see somewhere.

Seems like Track Navigator is somewhat linked to a product called "Ride with GPS" which is a bicycle program. I don't see any reason it would not work for my purposes though. Of course, Ride with GPS is a subscription service at between 50 and 80 bones/year.

I'll look forward to your reply on using it during your commute.
