So a lot of people ask about seat fab so I figured I throw this out.
when I first dropped the bike 3" I was an eager beaver and rode b4 tightening the shock and grounded into the seat a bit. Since then I've been rollin a vegas seat i picked up from the classifieds. So after reading every diy I could find on seats I came up w a pretty good tech. But u got a do what works for you...what tools u can control the best. The angle grinder w a 150 grit sanding pad was good but too volatile. My drill w a sanding disc on it worked good for me. 40 80 and 120 grits. And the hand scraper also for shaping. All can be bought from home depot. I started by pulling all the staples and taking the vinyl off and exposing the foam. Then carefully....use a flat putty knife knife if needed to separate the foam from the pan. Its glued on. I just pulled it off and it came off pretty clean. I used a jig saw w a finish blade to cut the pan down a couple inches. Then in used the electric carving knives to get the bulk off of the back. Used the sander to round everything off and contour the seat. Tapered in the sides to be just inside the side covers. Really stuck to the original shape. Just lowered the back. Brought in the sides and dished out where ur ass goes. Will probably cut the inside out and replace w a piece of denser better foam. Anyway its about done shape wise. The black seat in the pic is the vegas seat just to show comparison.
