After removing screws that hold hiem joints....unscrew heim joints. One end will have right hand threads and other left hand threads...or reverse threads.cheers

Douse the nut liberally with PB Blaster or any other penetrating oil, not WD40. Let it sit an hour or so. Tighten the nut then loosen it. It should come off with a little persuasion. If you're still having an issue, extend your wrench by putting a 12 or 18 inch long piece of pipe over the wrench. Tighten first then loosen.

I'm thinking it may have been cross threaded. With 12k miles on my bike, my shift linkage could be easily adjusted.

I agree it shouldn't have been that way...but seeing bike was brand new and nothing changed...don't see how it could have gotten cross threaded?

are the threads damaged? if not then it probably wasn't cross threaded. if it was CT it could happen anywhere it was touched. it could even have happened at the factory although i think that would be the least likely scenario.
