Hey all. I'm okay with the stock bar but it soooo wide. Is it feasible to cut the bar down 6" or so or is there some connector or gadget at the end of the bars that is required?

Yeah I guess I could have been a bit more specific. The handlebars. I realize if I were able to shorten them, it would probably pull me forward a bit but I'd prefer that to how wide they are now. And before I drop a couple hundred on a new set, I thought I'd see if modifying the stock one's would be possible.

Thanks!

Yep. A buddy just did this in reverse. He wanted them wider an his risers have a cowling over them so he cut them in half right at the middle the inserted a plug then welded them up. You will need to cut a section out then insert a plug and weld them up paying close attention to how much room you have between risers.

As I wrote this I was thinking you are on a Cross Country for some reason but then checked and see it's a Hammer so if I were you; I'd just get new bars.

Hint: Harley Springer bars have about the same center to center distance between Victory risers. Find a set of those in the width you like and hopefully the shape you want then you will have what you want.

12 Hammer 8 Ball and yeah I figured the steering would suffer so I'm also thinkin' about a 240 on the rear. I just got it a couple weeks ago so I'm going to see how it settles with me before I make any serious changes.
