I'm looking at buying an adjustable lowering link and need to know that if I lower it is a shortened stand necessary? If so what options are out there?

I think for extreme lowering it is needed. An inch or two probably doesn't need it. Others should chime in here soon.

I did some research as i just lowered my XC. lowering to 1.5 inch is the cutoff. Anything lower its recommended as well as skid plate for bottom to protect engine. Not sure as mine is still on bike lift awaiting painted parts. hope that helps.

just a heads up. they (vic baggers) redesigned the adjustable link. Its now adjustable in the center instead of the ends. much beefier. SO. Now you will have to reposition the tilt over cutoff sensor. its not that bad. I built a bracket and relocated it. If you decide to go with it and need some ideas let me know. I would be glad to help.
