I'm pretty new here, and pretty new 05 Vegas owner so I will apologize for all of the questions, but I am still trying to figure out what is normal on the bike.

So, the engine runs perfectly smooth except for a certain RPM band. I don't have a Tach, but it happens between 45-50mph in 4th gear and 55-60mph in 5th gear. The vibration isn't bad by any means, but it is enough to make the mirrors blurry. I wouldn't even think much of it, but it doesn't happen at all RPM's which is why it sticks out to me. Is this normal or should I be worried? Is it just hitting the natural frequency of the bike?

I played with it a little bit more today, I don't really feel the vibration, I just see it in the mirrors, and it is just a very small rpm band. I am guessing it probably isn't a big deal, but it just made me wonder because 90% of the time the mirrors don't shake at all.

Check to see if all the mirror bolts and screws are tight.
Check your tires. Look to see what shape there in are the weights there and is the air up on them.
Check your handle bar bolts see if there tight and riser bolts.

Been without internet for a while (moving).

I tightened up everything, it actually made things vibrate more. It is definately an engine vibration though, the RPM band is just above idle for a few hundred RPM. Idle is not the smoothest all the time either, so I am going to take a look at the spark plugs, maybe clean the intake or somthing. I dont' know anything else to do other than that.

small vibration? yeah right

I get a vibration too at 3000 rpm 70 mph..everyone says the bike is smooth? Compared to What a HD..The Crank is mounted with 2 bearings and gets play in them even with the new bikes with 500 miles on them.I think this is crap myself.I have friends with Yamaha 1700's that are smooth as silk..This is a Victory v twin crap design Just Like HD's but not as bad.Drive a triumph 1600 thunderbird it has 3 bearings on the main crank with no play and its smooth.I dont like my butt and hands getting numb at riding 75 mph..Sorry but I think the vegas is a cool bike but they need to redesign the crank bearings....If I could of test drove mine in the winter I would have not bought it. No its not the tires,rim,mounts,etc...8-10-12 I changed the baffle in my santa rosa exhaust.Went to BIG CITY THUNDER and Made a world of difference.Took my bike out 85mph most of the vib is gone.It was exhaust vib I was getting.Needed more back pressure..Still Like the bike now and take back what I said before.Thank you BIG CITY Thunder for the CC baffles.

Sucks you're having a vibration problem. I haven't had a vibration issue since break-in. I was concerned when I installed the billet grips that I would have some vibration issues, but never have.
Being it's an '05, assuming you aren't the original owner? Might be why they traded it in or sold it.

It's a big V-Twin bolted solidly to the frame. Yes, it is counterbalanced, but it's not gonna be as smooth as say, a Goldwing. Some vibration is going to get through.

Different exhaust systems, different tuning... these things will change what RPM you get a bit of vibes. Every bike is a little different.

Call it 'character'.
