All - Just curious if someone in the know understands the differences between all the "versions" of the 2001 model for example? Never got around to asking this question, but when I did the VIN number search, it came up with a STANDARD CRUISER (V01CB15DJ) so that's what I always select.

So I went to Chaparral to look up some parts and here is the listing for all the different versions? Is there someone in the know that can decipher what this differences might be or is there one "version model" that might have more problems (i.e. the trans issues)?

Thanks.
Frank

Some of them might be California bikes, they have all that emissions **** on em. Not really sure what the difference is in all those vins other than that

Standard Cruiser = 16" cast wheels, single front disc.

Deluxe Cruiser = 16" spoke wheels, standard leather bags & windshield.

Sport Cruiser = 17" cast wheels with radial sport bike tires, dual front discs, mid mount foot pegs, adjustable ride height.

That's a very simple overview.....there were other trim differences but those are the basics.

Deluxe and Standard are essentially identical bikes. All three use the same engine, transmission, frame and tank.

That makes sense...thanks for the help...I don't think the 2001 manual has that...but I'll go back and check...
