Sale went through yesterday, but ten mins into test ride!
Ride one and you'll own one!
(Now where have I heard that before?)
Ride this beast and you'll definitely want it!
Really , I knew he was gonna want it before he even rode it.
I could tell from the phone call.

He wasn't phased by the 170,000 kilometers (just over 100K miles)
As I said most bikes are worn out by then ,
A Victory on the other hand is worn in 馃槑
I explained the lower than market asking price was because is had those k's, and the fact the engine was worked.
Two factors that make most shy away!

Ten mins into the ride...I was leading/following on my XC,
He was riding it with the respect of someone riding a bike they don't yet own.
Ten mins in I signalled we pull over.
I said "what do you reckon?"
Anthony said " I'll buy it!"
I then told him about the fact they're not a tractor, though they have bulk torque.
Thankfully he had never ridden a Harley so didn't treat it like one.
Anthony has made the Quantum Leap!
From a Honda Shadow 750 , 3 years ago , to a souped up , heavy breathing Vegas!

When he said he last rode 3 years ago ,
I said "YOURE GONNA LOVE THIS RIDE!"
I wasn't wrong!...My Vegas sold itself!
I feel a little sad馃槬

Anthony put a K in my bank as well as a handshake so the deal was on.
Balance and pick up the bike on Monday.
I told my GF first, then my ex who's also a great friend,
and I said I'm not gonna ride it now the deals done.
An hour later the Vegas called me!
Chrome rocker cover winking in the sunlight.
She spoke to me in Vegaspeak
"One last ride!" She pleaded馃
Her tank was full of Premium,
Fresh oil and filter.
2 fairly new tyres.
and stripped bare to solo seat.
I could not resist her charms and advances.
I was seduced by a motorcycle!
As I was 8 years ago.
As Anthony was just a few hours ago.
As 96% of riders are when they throw a leg over a Victory wench!
errrrr motorcycle I mean馃槇

Up the highway turning off at Springbrook for the haul up the mountain, a few 70 mph straights then over a bridge and into second and third gear winding uphills with switchbacks and a few short uphill straights to let her sing in third the back into some serious Twisties again,
20 mins later Im riding up in the clouds looking back down on the High rise of Surfers Paradise to Burleigh and Coolangatta.
Crest the summit and my attention back to the road for a fast run along the ridge.
I stop at a place hang gliders jump from.
Rode up on to the grass and took this pic of my lover, my whore, my
Mistress, my bitch, my Vegas!
Then rode back down the mountain to my home.

Did you take the kingpin front off before you put it up for sale? It looks great back to a Vegas with one big engine.
What is next?

I would say congrats on the sell but I know you will miss her. I still miss my little Suzuki M50 and sometimes wish I would have kept her.

I live close to the surf of the Gold Coast , also close to the mountains of the hinterland, this whole area is the remains of a huge volcano back dinosaurs were discussing becoming oil.
See the peak in the far off distance, that's Mt Warning or Wollumbin as it was known for many many millenia before the white invasion.
Anthony lives ten mins away, so I can run him through oil changes, clutch maintenance, not blipping into first gear, all the basics,
Plus do some rides, I told him he's got Australia's second fastest Victory and to treat it with respect.

If you didn't have the yellow Bird coming on line soon you'd wake up at 3am regretting the sale.
But you do, so I reckon you'll be OK.

Yeah mate the ONLY way I'd ever let go of my Vegas is to replace it with something better.
I don't know Tweety as well as I know my Vegas.
But they're closely related, it's gonna be a very very interesting and exciting learning experience.
It's all coming together finally.
Got some immediate changes in store..Burleigh Bars will go on.
And my polished Lloyd's Primary cover to replace the black item.
Black one will go onto my XC.
and there's a nice dual seat that HC included, one of many he gave me actually.
We will try the dual seat first.
Other option is the setup I had on my Vegas.
HC's spare solo seat I put on my Vegas for the sale but after riding on it it was more comfy than my Vegas seat for some reason so I swapped em back.
And the exhaust, I do like my RPW Slash duals..but I'll give the RPW Thor a run for a while see if it grows on me.
Oh and got a few Motorhead stickers to strategically place on the Yella Terra as well.
Need to find out how long the present oil has been I'm it too.
If it's close to due I'll switch it over to Aussie PENRITE 15-50 semi syn diesel oil, and a Ryco Z411 Filter.
Exciting times for sure!

Amazing Story. My 2013 Cross Country Tour sold itself as well. I had a number of caller from Autotrader, but the very first one to test ride it, purchased it on the spot. I guess it's true, you ride one, you'll own one.

Maybe one day I'll move to OZ with my family, seems a good place to retire and school for the children

And we can run the JackHammer Alongside the Hot Banana!
Finally took possession the day before Australia Day , paid the rego and gave it a short run after changing the oil and filter and gassing it up, as well as tyre pressures which had dropped a bit over the 6 months .
Then after changing the seat and fitting pillion seat and back rest, did a 300 mile Australia Day with my lady on the back
That night I fitted my Burleigh Bars and made a few more adjustments.
Done almost 600 miles in the last 4 days it's been on the road.馃槑 no

Yes....crumbling dark concrete sentinels to a bygone age!
Vermin and mutant infested mazes ,frought with danger from the hovering government drones equipped to kill on sight any unchipped unvaccinated rebels.
