Hiya guys. New to Victory and I'm burning with questions. I'll try to ask only ones I didn't see answers too, but hopefully they are "easy" for you long-term riders and techies.

What is gearing on the XC? Anyone have a listing of each one? This is surprisingly hard to find.

Does the XC have a helmet lock?

Is there...something special about the way the oil cooler works on these compared to say HDs? I'm hearing some buzz but can't quite figure this out.

Temperature gauge. Yah or nah? Is it possible to even install one that's not a dipstick?

It's in the Owners Manual. You can download it from Victory

Oil cooler works well. The sound you are hearing could be several things from a loose type buzz, fuel pump, valve chatter that quiets with use, to who knows. Learn to shift the transmission and it is quiet. Fuel it from the left with the nozzle pointing to the right, it can roll. Top it off and go, no mess or frustration although it can be ungainly.

Only if you don't like sleeping at night. LOL

Thanks for answering my other questions. Sorry for the confusion, but by buzz I meant I've heard people taking about HD oil coolers and wanted to know what, if any, the differences in operation were. I've heard HDs dont circulate oil into the head just crank?

The Harley's just run the oil thru the cooler and back into the reservoir. Where the Victory uses a high pressure pump (around 70 psi at speed), and circulates the oil like the water cooled motor circulates the coolant.

if oil temp was a factor "all" bikes would come with a temp gage.
Some days you have to use common cents. If its over a 100 stay out of stop and go.

Don't know of any bike that comes with helment lock but there easy to add.

Harley oil cooler has a therostat in it and only works when bike gets hot. Harley all so shuts down rear cylinder at stop lights to keep rider cool.
Just like Vic the oil comes out of motor threw oil cooler and back into motor. Vic works the hole time the motor is running

Better Questions:

Pipe Popping on decel...
How to get ride of the heat....
What do Cams do to the performance?
do I need a fuel controller? Which one
Does everyone only get 9000 from a rear tire?
What is the adjustable timing wheel and why do I need one.
Which pipes are best ?
Why Dyno Tuning don't I get the same thing from the Auto Tune?

Hmm, so basically faster flow whereas a Harleyhas a thermo to regulate it.

Who steals helmets? Hell, in a helmet free state you're unlikely to see anyone who even bothers wearing them. And I don't know why someone would want a stinky old bucket of someone elses that may or may not fit anyway.

I always throw mine between the handlebars. Far as I know, no one has ever bothered it. Though there was the time I rode my Jap cruiser to the Harley flat track races and it appears one fellow there may have mistaken my hanging helmet as a urinal?

Pipe Popping on decel... Never a problem on my bike, EVER (28K miles).
How to get ride of the heat.... BBobs heat shields help a LOT. I keep my vents CLOSED!
What do Cams do to the performance? Haven't done cams, probably won't.
do I need a fuel controller? Which one Probably could use one, but won't.
Does everyone only get 9000 from a rear tire? I get 12-15k on my rear tires.
What is the adjustable timing wheel and why do I need one. Interesting, probably won't.
Which pipes are best ? Stock (no decel pop), I like MUSIC too, staying with stock.
Why Dyno Tuning don't I get the same thing from the Auto Tune? Techie question, I RIDE.

Yeahbot if you ride down a quarter mile raceway WFO, you'll get to the end approximately 42.6' behind the loud, firebreathing machines. And you'll have a hell of time hearing your radio over their popping. :ltr:

This always cracks me up!
A buddy bought his first big bike not long ago and the first time we went for a ride and stopped to get a bite, he said "oh wow, no helmet lock on here". I said "who the hell wants your stinky sweat filled lid anyways! No big black market for them!" LOL.
