Picked up my bike today after getting the lowering kit installed. WOW! I HAVE A NEW BIKE even from the bike I bought 75 miles ago!

Even the 6 ft manager liked it!

So I finally got to take it for a comfortable little ride. To say the bike handles great is an understatement. Went on some roads I rode often with my old bike and had to keep backing off in the corners, didn't realize how far over the speed limit I was going, and I'm not big into leaning. Will say the HD seemed to have more pull and torque on the low RPM's even with a smaller engine, but I do love this bike, and don't care to make it into something it's not.

However, it was over 90 out and the heat of the engine, particularly the left side is huge! I don't think I'd ever need to use the built in seat heaters. My butt was soaking wet and that ussually takes one hell of a lot more riding on my old small twin cam 88!

So... either tell me what's available, or let's get on Kuryakyns wet butt to make the wind deflectors for the Harley for our bikes, or I'll buy the first set from whomever can make a pair fit this bike! Now for my lowered seat and the SO gets to ride safely!

Pull the lowers. Not the bars...just the lowers and see how it feels.

I have a sneaking suspicion the Victory hard lowers aren't gonna be much good over 80 degrees which makes them worthless out here in the low lands of the Southwest.

They will excel out in the Siberian cold country of the Northern states though; I'm sure. ;)

The irony is there's a test track nearby and they must have known this before releasing it.

Let's see...doesn't work with the XC forged bars and are no good over 80 degrees.

Someone didn't do their homework. (obviously)

Interesting. But I don't want to regain wind buffeting, and not sure how to unhook or handle wiring for Accessory plug and Ipod in the lowers. Hate too loose my IPOD too!

I agree with Bob. I rode my X/C through Texas to Sturgis with Temps over 115 degrees running anywhere between 25-80 MPH, and I can't say my butt ever got hot. I don't run any lowers, so my legs didn't get hot unless I was at a full stop. I have to admit though I sure was wanting a set of the Fork lowers to help keep some of that 120+ road heat from blowing off the road onto me. Don't want all the wind off me, but a little less of that heat would have been nice

No solution, but answer to something else you brought up. HD feels like it has more low end grunt because they are geared lower. learn to ride a little deeper into the gear on your Vic, and the power will shine like the truth

Have you played with the settings on the lower vents? The reviews say that the best hot weather ride was with the vents just cracked. It does not sound right but that what they reported.

I agree doesn't make sense, but I'll try it. They are fully open right now, thanks.

Good luck with the heat problem but I don't think you will solve it with the new hard lowers. But, Alaska Leather sheepskin seat pads WILL solve the wet butt. I have had them on my XC for over a year. They help in the 120* heat of the summer Arizona temps, and also help to keep your butt warmer in the cold of winter

They are hotter when opened all the way. I have found that opening them one and a half inches was the best for me after much experimenting. :)

HOT BUTT: When cleaning my bike the salesman accidentally turned on the heated seats. That's the only time my butt sweated. I was out for an 150 mile lunch run yesterday and my butt was fine.

Just got back from a couple hour ride. around 90 degrees. It WORKS. Almost completely closed the lowers, and unless I was doing 70 or over opening the lowers makes it hotter! I can't believe it! I also tipped the ones on the fairing to about 90 degrees and seemed to help push the air down around the engine. We live in a world of oxymoron's.

Wesdalton, What size did you get for the seat, was it alaskaleatheronline.com, and how much did it raise you back up in seat? I've got to stay low, low, low!

I gut the driver LARGE, and the Pillion type 1. I got the charcoal color so they don't stand out too much. I am very happy with the product and use them about 90% of the time I ride. It may have raised the height 1/4-1/2 inch, but I don't notice any difference. My inseam is 28" so height is important to me also. I am happy you are pleased with your lowers. After you put more time riding with them please post if there is any change in your saticfaction.
