Just bought a 2007 vegas off ebay a week ago. Haven't received bike yet as it is in California and I'm in PA. Bike is blue and white with premium package and only 2200 miles. I paid $9000 which includes shipping to my house. Good price or no? After agreeing to buy this bike I found a brand new 2007 same color and equipped about the same with a 5 year warranty for only $2800 more. Now I'm second guessing myself as the new bike in only 4 hours away and I could look at it before actually buying it. I guess I'm looking to ease my mind on my purchase. Only 2200 miles I figure the bike should be like new. What specific things should I look for when I receive the bike from California? Other than obvious cosmetic defects. I've always owned Hondas before so I'm new to Victory. They are definitely the best looking bike out there. I'm hoping they are reliable as well.

Hey and welcome to Victory ownership.

What you should look for is signs of a collision. The main thisg to look at it the down tube frame plate welds. Look for cracks bends or obvious sign of repairs.

The deal you got isn't bad at all. The only thing is no warranty. Then again these bikes are pretty much bullet proof.

I would suggest changing the oil and filter when you receive your bike. Also clean the throttle bodies.

Lets talk about your engine and tranny. The engine and tranny share the same oil. SO, do NOT put full synthetic in or your clutch will more than likely start slipping. I advise Victory Oil only but if you are tight on money then use Rotella T, sold at Wal Mart.

If you're good to your Vic it will be just as good to you.

thanks for the info Diamondrmp. What weight oil do these bikes use. I use rotella T 30 weight to break the engines for my race cars in. I believe it comes in 15w40 also. I think the closest Victory dealer is about 45 miles away. What is the Victory oil per Quart?

you want ot use Rotella 5w - 30.

The vic oil is almost $10.00 a quart depending on if you can find a deal. Most oil change kits are $55.00 - $65.00. Thats without a filter.

My kit costs $60 with a filter

The kit I get from my dealer includes the spin on oil filter, new plug gasket, and 6 quarts of oil. Makes changing a breeze...
