I have a XC and was wondering if anybody has bought the stage 2 kit with S&S cams? If so do you have to run the tri-oval exhaust or can you run different kind of exhaust, I have the HotVic slip-ons. Any info would be appreciated.

The benefits to adding the factory Stage 2 upgrade is that your bike will get a decent increase in HP/TQ while still meeting EPA regs. and you'll retain the factory warranty.
That said the added power is about the same as going to typical aftermarket setup without cams....Lloydz AF, ATS, good slip-on mufflers and PC-V with tune. Add a decent set of aftermarket cams and the bike is in a whole different league than the factory Stage 2 bike.
You'll have to ask your dealer if they'll do the Stage 2 without the Tri-Ovals and don't forget you'll also need the Vic HF air-filter.

Mags who's on here has Lloyds A/F , Timing Wheel +4 , PCV , Miller Mufflers , 1/4 Turn Throttle Ring , Dyno Tuned by KMC Powersports 98HP 113 TQ.
With the s&s kit your going to have maybe 4 more horse and 5 more torque.

He did all this for less then what a dealer chargers for the s&s install

Vic's stage 2 kit requires the tri-ovals....my XC came with the stage 2 kit and when I questioned the exhaust, was told that's the only option allowed by victory to keep the warranty. Bike still is in break in mode, (400miles), so I haven't opened her up yet, but like the response and sound. Very grunty and loads of torque...

Disclaimer, my 2006 victory hammer with stage 1 and open loop fuel was the mother of all torque and dyno's at 90 hp and 115 ft lbs of torque at the wheel......so far, the XC with stage 2 is still growing on me........

I am sorry folks I have to go there:eek....................On that V. O. G. "3 letter forum" there was an entire thread that may help clear the cobwebs for you........some of the same folks that contributed there have contributed in this thread. And will say a few more when they read your last post. Prepare to be educated there is "Victory" education outside of the dealership:wink. The thread on the non linkable forum is called "S&S FACTORY CAMS THOUGTS" and yes it is spelled that way.
As I understand ....educate,options, choices...............

These S&S loadouts mostly seem like a good way for Polaris to rake in a bunch of money on performance mods that fall a bit short of what's available from the aftermarket. Of course, you can get some pep without ever having to worry about hassling with warranty or violating EPA regs. Which, in hindsight, seems like something Polaris knew was going to become an issue since the EPA got Harley for it.
