Hey All, Any idea why my 2009 Jackpot starter engages when I hit the start button with the bike in gear and the clutch out? Thanks!

Either the neutral sensor is broken and reading neutral all the time (this would likely show up as the neutral light/indicator always being on) or, more likely, the clutch safety switch is broken in such a manner that it reads as the clutch lever always being pulled. A new clutch safety switch was about $60 3 years ago when I replaced one.

Thanks for the reply. The neutral indicator only lights when I shift into neutral. Where is the clutch safety switch located ?

Clutch safety switch is located on the left handlebar and is activated by the clutch lever. Perhaps the switch went bad or became unplugged.

Hopefully, it is as simple as an unplugged connector. The offending switch is located on the bottom of the clutch lever perch below the pivot of the clutch lever. It is a little delicate so be careful when messing with it.

Just a note: When I was lubing the clutch bolt once the activation button on the switch was knock out and the switch stayed on all the time when I put the lever back together. I was lucky and found the very small active button on the grange floor and re installed it. Switch has worked fine ever since. Just saying check the clutch switch real careful.

Clutch switch failure will not allow it to crank at all typically
Yes. Disconnected or bad will see open clutch and NOT start.

Remote start on a bike? Never heard of that but I suppose you can.

When someone said, "remote start", they might have meant keyless ignition but I could be mistaken.

Lol I've though about remote start on mine for warming it before I ride. Aftermarket levers may have been added and didnt have the clutch safety switch
