what ever happen to the steering lock. if my bike has one i can't find it:(

Another of Victory's "shortcuts". Top of the line price with a lot of little things missing. Fork lock, helmet lock, proximity fob, or any security for that matter. Wiring for helmets or intercom, CB, CD, (ok, maybe not the CD). The guys they want to butt heads with offer a lot of goodies on their top machines. BTW, I just named them.
Kinda cheaped out. You can buy fork locks, CB, a messed up and very expensive blue tooth set up, or just about anything else.
Not bad for a company that demands MSRP, at least around here, but not a lot else for it.
I just hope their bikes are as good as they think they are.

I know I kept trying to find a lock to lock my steering and NOTHING!! Hello that helps thieves from stealing it..BUMMER

Yeah because fork locks stop motorcycle thefts



To be honest they do help slow down an amature. But if a pro wants your bike there isn't a whole lot you can do to stop him.

A cover and lock is one of the cheapest ways to protect your bike. Not only from the elements but it also hids what the bike is. Thevies would rather limit their exposure and don't want to waste time to find out if the bike is worth stealing. Of course using a cover with a logo defeats the purpose. Combine that with a disk lock will stop most theives.

For the best protection an alarm and LoJack is about the best thing you can get if you feel it's worth the money.

If you look just in front of the gas tank you will see a plastic plug. It is my understanding that Euro bikes come with a fork lock in that location. Supposedly Victory has kits for U.S. bikes. I've heard the cost is just over $200.

I don't know if I'm buying that kids You tube primer on theft deterrence but he was right on a couple things. Making it hard is as good as it gets. Most thieves are bottomfeeders, opportunists. Those are the kind that will give up if the going gets hard.
First, neck locks are about useless. Keeps honest men honest. Most snap without tools, just muscle.
Next, most disk locks are only a little better than a neck lock. Amazing what a can of hair spray and a Bic lighter will do to a disk lock. Not to say there aren't good ones, I'm saying that one the kid had in his hand wasn't even a good doorstop.
Then he went on about using two of them, one front, one rear. Problem there is if the bad guy knows how to beat the one on the front then he can repeat that trick on the other one. If you are going to try to beat the thief at least use two different types of locks so he has to carry more tools around.
Then the kid says park it right out on the street or in his case the parking lot. Right. Park your bike where a van with 4 boneheads all tuned up on crank can just pull up, swing the doors open and throw your baby in. Gone in 10 seconds and... oh yeah, your neighbors are all running for the phone to report that brazen daylight theft. Sure they are, in the movies maybe.
I have had two bikes stolen. One was chained to a locking post set in concrete and they moved a brand new Harley out of the way to get that 50 year old bike. The other was in a locked and secured trailer in a secure storage facility with closed circuit cams and 24 hr guards. I never had an unlocked bike touched and Pops bikes have been in some sketchy places unlocked.
Chain 'em, lock 'em, tie a rabid wolf to 'em, carry a nine in your jumper, LoJack, DGD, whatever. No matter. Might stop Zippy the Pinhead but a pro won't miss a beat.
One and only one surefire way to beat the thief. Insurance and a lot of it.

I agree with Pops, get good insurance with good coverage. If I was to worry about my motorcycle getting stolen, scratched, rained on, etc then I would just quit riding.

The "other guys" charge for everything they add on. $400 ish for cruise etc.

I do miss the steering lock but got over it as soon as I put the disk brake lock on.

Security would have been nice though.

Driven my 2010 for 2 years, 3rd coming up as soon as the snow is gone. really looking forward to the stage one. Zero issues and the XCountry beats the VTwin "other" bikes all hollow. Power, torque, handling, comfort etc. Beats my 07 RoadKing all hollow. No comparison, in any way.
