So I got my front fender back today, and initially I wasn’t so sure about the look of it, but then after going to my wifes work and having lunch with her (I know how to work the system!!!) I then rode to the Victory Sydney bike shop and those guys totally, totally, freaked out! They loved it so much it made me really start to really appreciate it, which is awesome- they are great guys.
So for this summer I have added the 300 rear Avon (up from a 280 Metzeler) with spacer kit, and replaced the front rim from a 18" to a 23", but still with the Ness 10-gauge wheel (although they did screw my order up, but it worked out OK because they only had to send over a left hand side hub for the left disc mounts).

Some little things that I added about a year ago that I really like is the cam tensioner caps are finned (can’t remember where from, either WD or Victory Only or something) and no one here has them so it’s cool, I have a matching Ness 10-gauge open engine pulley cover, which doesn’t really show because the friggin exhaust is too fat, and I also have a matching Ness 10-gauge wheel pulley.

The next few things I’m going to get is an ATS- I cant believe it but the shop here knows nothing about these and haven’t fitted any ATS’s to bikes- I’ll order that in 2 weeks (I got Llyodz cams, filter and PCV fitted over a year ago). Then get it either dyno’d or get the auto-tuner. Then once I’ve clicked over 12k miles I will get either Lloydz or Progressive fork upgrades- I highly recommend getting your shocks upgraded- my Progressive rear is way better than the stock. And hopefully, for money reasons, that’s it- so much for the kids inheritance :)

Anyway, just sharing my thoughts. I’ve owned probably 12 bikes over 30 years, and this bike is by far the most fun, and really for what you get its cheaper than Jap or Hog bikes.

Looks sweet! Well since you have been riding it for a bit with the new 23 inch front and 300 + throw in the fork height changes how in your honest opinion does it handle? But the bike looks great man, definitely one of the nicest Hammer's on the forum....

Thanks man- appreciate it.
You know, I almost replied saying it doesnt handle as well with the 23"- I mean logicallly it shouldnt- but Im still gettting used to it, so it's too early to say yet. The front is definitely more stable, and given the extra innertia of the wheel that makes sense, but that may also be the Avon compared to the Dunlop (and I hate those dunlops- have I mentioned that before? :) ). It does take a fair bit more muscle to turn for sure. And its the front that has raised my seat by 1.5" (I previously stated the 300 Avon sits higher than the 280 Metz)- the shop measured the rear and it's actually dropped by 1" at the axle since going to the 300 Avon.
At the end of the day I really want the look and am prepared to sacrifice handling a little.......how much that has been sacrificed I havent worked out yet.

Thanks guys- appreciate it. The Victory boys here reckon I've got the "yuppie" bike :) .......ah well, I like it.......

Haha....thought you'd like that Mags- it has literally been the best summer in Sydney for 10 years I reckon. Right now there's not a cloud in the sky and about 80F.

You guys are making it extremely difficult for me! My wife is of the thinking "It is a brand new bike, why do you need to spend more money on it?" KRISD, your bike looks sick! I have come to the conclusion that I want to do a 300 swap with either a 23" or 21" front end. I just wish I didn't have 6 inches of snow on the ground.

I think it looks awesome also !!

I see you've added some performance upgrades - lloydz filter , PVC , lloydz cams ......

You really should consider replacing the X-bow exhaust .... It looks great .... But you are leaving a lot of performance on the table with it..... I know this 1st hand .

I only mention this because from your post ...you mention getting a ATS , and future Dyno Tune .....so you do want performance.

The bike looks awesome !!!!

The 300 rear is totally worth it, and given the info on this forum it's easy to do yourself if you have the space and gear. I think a 21" front is probably necessary to "balance" the look of the bike if you do the 300 rear- taking the front to 23" is just pure ego :D

Put on some Freedom pipes last week- really clean up the right side of the bike. There's virtually no back pressure now but man its sounds good when down shifting :)
