On my Harley, I changed everything to synthetic oil. The engine quieted down, the primary quieted down and the transmission shifted quieter and smoother. Is this a good thing to do with a Vic?

The Victory is a multi-sump system with a wet clutch. Your crankcase oil lubricates the transmission and primary as well. Victory's house-branded oil, approved for use in all their motorcycles, is a 20w-40 synthetic blend.

Many forum members use Amsoil, Mobil 1, Valvoline or Castrol full synthetics and no one's posted any negative results that I've come across (and I spend way too much time lurking here). Altho I'm not so sure you can quiet a Victory down, the synthetic certainly can't hurt on an air/oil cooled motor to reduce engine wear, especially as temperatures climb.

Guess you never read your owners manual or you don't have a Victory.
We only use one oil we have the smarter designed bike

I'm going to assume you understand there is one oil instead of insulting your intelligence.

As long as it meets the JASON standards it is fine. Loyd, Rylan, and I'm pretty sure KevinX all say the Vic oil is the best way to go. I'm currently using Amsoil but will switch back to Vic as I don't see any real changes in noise. It's not worth the extra expense to me. Plenty of people have logged huge miles on Vic's with Vic oil so I'm not worried about that at all.

OK, you guys know your stuff. I don't have a Victory yet. I haven't been able to ride for a year or two and as I type this reply, I'm recovering from hip replacement surgery done two days ago. That will allow things to work correctly again. At any rate, I am thinking about the Kingpin as my next bike and just want to know as much as possible before jumping in. If it would be best for me to get one first before asking questions, I can wait, no problem, no offense.

Thanks for the replies. Everything I learn about Victory just confirms that my choice is good.

I have only had 2 street bikes. 2005 Mean Streak and a 2011 Kp. I have test rode other Vic's. IMHO the KP has it hands down for handling. For a few $ in extras it really comes alive too. Just my thoughts, good luck with your recovery !

Welcome to the forums. Sorry if you feel like you are being attacked. Some people forget sometimes that they didn't know everything about a Vic at first either. Please feel free to ask any and all questions regarding Victory motorcycles here. It's great to see people doing research in order to make an informed decision.

Yes the Victory engines use the same oil throughout the trans and engine. There have been a few people in the past that have complained that switching to a full synthetic that their clutch started to slip. I have not seen that posted in quite some time.
I run 4 quarts T6 in my Kingpin with 2 quarts of regular Rotella. It is basically creating a semi-synthetic in doing this. I have 56,000 miles on the Kingpin and still running strong.
I currently am running Rotella T6 full synthetic in my Cross Roads.This is the first time running full synthetic. So, at this point, I haven't had an issue.But I only have 2,000 miles on the T6. If I continue to have no issues, I will most likely continue with the t6 only.

OK, home from the clinic and hobbling around with a cane. My right leg will certainly allow me to get on a bike once it's healed. The whole 8 years I had my FXLR, I never had a comfortable ride. I can't tell you how pleased I am.

I didn't feel attacked but being new to the forum, I thought there might have been unspoken protocols to be aware of. I didn't want to assume anything on my own.

I didn't know you could mix the two. Obviously with 56K on it, it's possible. Thanks for the help.

I'll ask any other general questions using that live link you provided. It's good to know this help is available for a potential Victory owner. Meanwhile I'll lurk my way around all the older threads to pick up answers I wouldn't have thought to ask about.

One and done makes Vic oil changes a breeze. For fun read all the oil threads and posts. Every opinion on oil and fluids is there. BTW 2 ounces of wheatgrass is equivalent to 4 lbs of green veggies. Watch the response:ltr:
