Haven't had it happen on my XC but have on a couple of other Bikes .. Is an Electronic Signal and as long as comes right back wouldn't worry about it ..

I added the Victory tach (analog dial) to my 2010 Vegas,
It works fine.

When you say "gets stuck" do you mean at 0 or at an actual RPM reading? If it's at a reading, I would think maybe the needle is slightly bent. If at 0, check your connections.

It's a 2012 cross roads with accessory analog tach that don't work right. It gets stuck at a actual reading. This is the second tach that's been doing the same thing.

Is the dealer not installing it right?

Best you ask the dealer that.
I installed my own, its not rocket science, plugs straight into my existing loom....not a problem

maybe start looking at all the connectors. Pull them apart add some grease check for a loose wire in connector
