A pissed off Chinese-American couple living in Wuhan tried to give a TV crew their experience of life under quarantine in Wuhan.

Here is their personal account of how their interview was cut and pasted to make their living conditions look 10x worse than they
actually are.
So true. Gotta take every news outlet with a grain of salt. The young lady is right. Think critically. Think independently.

Now you're regurgitating Trump's propaganda. I suppose you believe that no Republicans were allowed at the Congressional impeachment proceedings too? Or that they weren't allowed to call any witnesses or question the ones there too? Congress is supposed to INVESTIGATE for an impeachment proceeding. It's the corollary of a grand jury to see if there is sufficient evidence to support a possible impeachment for the Senate to hold a trial for. The President and MOST of his staff were subpoena'd to testify, he claimed executive privilege (improperly) for most of them.
An incomplete list of who was called to testify but didn't 'show up'.
An unidentified source told the network that National Security Council lawyers John Eisenberg and Michael Ellis will not testify.
Two other officials, Robert Blair, assistant to the president and senior adviser to acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney, and Brian McCormack, associate director for natural resources energy and science at the Office of Management and Budget, had already declined to testify, outlets reported Saturday.
Two other Office of Management and Budget officials, Michael Duffey and Russell Vought, will not show up to testimonies later this week..
Outgoing Energy Secretary Rick Perry refused to a request to testify Wednesday as part of the inquiry....
Bolton did not testify but was called...
Pompeo was called and did not attend...
Trump himself was invited to testify and declined..
Giuliana was called to testify...
I can go on and on. You say that Congress should have 'waited' and gotten more evidence yet in no case could all of the legal battles have been settled before the next election! How is that justice? Sondland who had direct knowledge of the President's orders explicitly stated under oath that there was incontrovertibly a quid pro quo with the Ukraine to get the money by playing ball with Trump and publicly announcing an investigation into Hunter Biden in the Ukraine. Officials in the Ukraine stated that that was their understanding as well. There is a LOT of evidence of wrongdoing, but everyone and his brother refused congressional subpoena's to testify.

You talk about liberals destroying America and talk of splitting the country? That's patriotism? You call anyone that thinks like you a normal and denigrate anyone with a different worldview or opinion names... and you think that's 'American'? My own political views have always been centrist.. I've voted Independent as often as I've voted for either Republican or Democrat because I don't subscribe to either party ideology. Trump is NOT a good candidate to lead this country. He's not a good american, and he certainly doesn't represent the middle class. that's just propaganda that continues to baffle me why people buy it. He's a plutocrat that inherited his wealth from a New York developer, who hides his money illegally from taxes. He's never 'worked' a day in his life.. and from all accounts hasn't ever even had to buy his own groceries. He dodged the draft, cheated on not one, not two but THREE of his wives and practically nothing to do with raising any of his children. He's a womanizer at best and a professional 'JOHN' at worst. He's a liar, his dishonest in his business dealings and has lost more money than most people can even imagine. I would not let this man in my house and I certainly wouldn't trust him alone in a room with my wife or daughter or even worse my 12 year old grand-daughter.. so why should I respect him as a President?
I disagree.

It looks like the Democrats would back off President Trump and find someone to groom for the 2024 elections. We the people are fed-up with their insanity. Not just Republicans and Independents but a growing number of Democrats. I'm sure the 2020 elections will highlight this. By massive wins by the Republicans across the board. President Trump has proved that our government is not working for the people. But for self interest, greed and power over the people. 99% of the Republicans have came around because they see how the Presidents policies have worked. Despite all of the opposition President Trump has accomplished in doing what he promised he would do. He has brought hope and prosperity back to America. He has woke up America, well the majority of us anyway. Long live the King, LOL.

Joe.........Thanks for that generous reply. I'll try to look into some of your recommendations. We don't have cable, just antenna that receives only 60+ channels. We eliminated all but 6, the rest are shopping, religion, foreign and porn. I just threw that last one in to see if you were paying attention.
Found some info on why I believe what I said about Truman using the bomb even though he knew that the Japanese were attempting to sue for peace.

Here is an excerpt from Truman's personal diary.
"
7/18/45 Diary Entry:
"P.M. [Prime Minister Winston Churchill] & I ate alone. Discussed Manhattan [atomic bomb] (it is a success). Decided to tell Stalin about it. Stalin had told P.M. of telegram from Jap Emperor asking for peace. Stalin also read his answer to me. It was satisfactory. Believe Japs will fold up before Russia comes in. I am sure they will when Manhattan appears over their homeland. I shall inform Stalin about it at an opportune time."

Hiroshima and Nagasaki were bombed on on August 6 and 9 at this point his diary shows he had not even made the decision to bomb them yet.
If you would like to read more about it here is a link to the entire page of Truman's diary:
Here is a link to the entire website devoted to the subject that has links to the diary's of both Truman and Stimpson (secretary of war) as well as other websites that are devoted to the subject.
Hiroshima: Was It Necessary? The Atomic Bombing of Japan

After the bombing we were fed BS to justify what was done in our name.
There is a lot more stuff like this. It will rock your socks so to speak.

In one of the first democrat presidential debates one off the candidates talked about lowering the voting age to 16 years old. I'm pretty sure it was Warren but not positive it was. It kind of floored me, 16 years old 18 is to young and in this day and time 21 is to young in many cases. Many not all of our young adults have no clue to what life is all about. A lot of parents have a hard time getting the kid out by the time the kid is 30. I grew up in a blue collar family and when you turned 12 you went to work with my dad in construction. Laying base board, putting in closet selves and trimming windows. The plumbers, electricians and all aspects of construction workers had their kids on the job. When we left home we had a trade/skill and most of us left around 17 or 18 years old. At that age we were more mature than most 30 year old men now. I worked 47 hours a week and didn't get paid for it until I was 16. That just the way it was and I still have no qualms with it. I did get some collage later thanks to the GI Bill.

Sometimes I think a voter should have skin in the game to vote. Like a property owner, a real taxpayer, in the military or veteran or be over 21; maybe even over 25. Most people under 30 are clueless about politics and how it affects their lives.

Every poll out there disproves your personal theory of Trumps universal appeal...

"
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- President Donald Trump's job approval rating has risen to 49%, his highest in Gallup polling since he took office in 2017."

So in 3 years of office his BEST approval rating hasn't ever reached 50%...

It's better than Obama's was. Some polls have Trumps as high as 53% and you know as well as the rest of us that polls are rigged much of the time. Like Hillary had a 90% chance to win the 2016 election.

Obama's job approval rating during his third year in office had its ups and downs, peaking at 53% in May and falling as low as 38% in August and October. The higher ratings in May occurred after U.S. Navy Seals found and killed Osama bin Laden in PakistanObama's Year and Quarter in Historical Context. Obama's 48% job approval average for his entire fourth year is the lowest, tied with Harry Truman, among recent presidents who were successfully re-elected. The two recent presidents defeated for a second term -- Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush -- averaged roughly 40% job approval in their fourth year in office. Dwight Eisenhower had the highest fourth-year average, exceeding 70%.

Ever since the polls stated Hitlery had an 80% chance of winning going into election day; I don't pay attention to polls. Polls are a fake statistic designed to show a favored outcome. Any poll taken by a news outlet is just plain worthless. Some are a little better; like Rasmusen but still to be taken with a huge grain of salt. People lie in those polls just to throw it off. The wording of the question can greatly skew them.

Oh; and Trump has a poll rating of 51% favored this morning. What really matters is who shows up to vote and in what numbers. Bernie voters say they won't show up if Biden or Warren is he nominee and visa versa so until the day after, sometimes longer, after the election is all that really matters.

The real question is why would anyone vote for someone other than Trump at this point with record unemployment, over 4 trillion dollars growth in the economy, minorities finally getting the kind of treatment the dems always promised but never delivered (financial independence through employment; not handouts) and sentencing reform for those sentenced to time in prison way longer than it should have been? What dem candidate could do anywhere near as good? All of them say they want to take the country backwards back to the dreary hell of the obama years or worse.

Sorry Charlie; not looking for tuna with good taste but rather for tuna that tastes good. Trump's economy tastes good along with the border security, foreign relations, and global respect for America (again).

KIaitiff you know you really love President Trump and what he has done for America. I'm sure you will vote for him in 2020, you can't want what the Democrat party is offering you.

Not really a political topic but the coronavirus is a concern to everyone. Here is a map with number of cases and deaths due to it so far. It's updated regularly. The good news for us in the USA is there have been no deaths so far. Let's hope it stays that way.

Welp; that SOTU address should keep leftist heads spinning for the rest of the week and into the next one.

Medal of Freedom for Rush! He so deserved that. Hope he beats this lung cancer thing. Hey; if they can keep RBG alive then there must be hope for Rush Limbaugh.

I am pumped after that speech. Trump's respect for LEO and military is refreshing after that last guy, whats his name. At the end of the SOTU, Pelosi stood and dramatically ripped her copy of the speech and tossed it. Mark my word, that will become her legacy. What an asshole!
