Ok, I recently picked up an 03 V92C. I'll soon need a front tire and while I've searched this forum a bit, I don't see much info on tires/prices here.

I have to wonder, is everyone just running OEM Dunlops? Buying from dealer or repair shop? What are you paying? Anyone changing your own tires?

I'll be changing my own tires and looking for the best deal I can find. So far, I'm leaning toward the Continental Milestones from MotoSPORT (a sponsor here?) for 104.99 front, but I don't see a rear Conti available from them in 160/80-16.

Any thoughts, advice, or recommendations on tires?

I pull my wn on the TC and take the to the dealer. Put new tubes in as well and I found motorcycle superstore best price and shipping at the time. Ensure when your getting tube you order correct stem offset or straight. Not sure about the cruiser but rear tire n the TC was same size as goldwings 1500 which is where I got 1 rear tire. Wing things or some site like that. Free shipping was a biggy.

Inspected my front bearings, not replaced and if you already got the front wheel off might think about servicing your forks if over 15k. Wouldn't have believed it made such a difference on it but it did. What weight oil you go back with is another topic. Lol

Rear tire is no biggie either BUT I wold brush up on figuring out alignment. It can be a pain but plenty of info here on it and tensioning. Ensure you inspect and/or retorque your front pulley nut. That's every 15k and if it loosens or jumps the back off plate it really blows causing premature wear on the splines or worse. I will say the new back off plates are a little better but my money is on the red loctite. Lol

Tires themselves, just like the oil threads. Your call. I'm getting 12-15k on rear and 15-20k on front by checking my pressures and I ride solo 95% of the time on highway.

Welcome and congrats. The new ride.

I ran/am running a 160-80-16 kenda kruz on the rear of my chopper and with 19,000 miles on it it looks about half worn. I run about 18psi in it always also.

Thank yall for the feedback. Going to try the Continental Milestone from MotoSPORT up front. Keeping the Dunlop on the rear till needed.

It looks hard to beat that Kendra Kruz as far as miles for the price... May consider that when the time comes.

Stay tuned for a full report as we see how these perform.

Best tires I've run on a V92C/TC, and I've used up a few of 'em, is the Avon Venom's.
How did they do on the concrete BNT? Im about 40+ miles a day on interstate with a minor mix of asphalt (15 miles) so the center of it takes a beating

tires

its either traction or wear or somewhere between depends on your tastes. i got 2 sets of pirelli rosso II for my 2012 bonnie, they handle great and stick well, expect about 5,000 miles maybe more up front. good deal from moto-sport with free shipping on 4 tires, excellent service. i remove the wheels an my bud a former ducati dealer mounts + balances the set very reasonably. prolly be using metz on the hammer in the future.
