That was his old shop at his house...not his main shop...or the new shop they are in now.

Sorry to see that. Hope new garage is all you want it to be. Hope the insurance takes care of it for you. Thankfully your house and family are ok.

WOW, bad things can happen to really good people. I hope he remembers to tell the insurance people about the two Porsche's that he had in there.

Just a note to everyone regarding losses such as this when it comes to insurance companies. Walk around your house taking pictures or videos of everything you own and put the record some place else. With a relative or in a safety deposit box. Without an accurate record you will forget many things and you may not remember them until it's too late to recover the expense. Furniture, window coverings, clothing, books, hobby items, tools, etc, etc, etc. Most people only think about major items like jewelry but all the rest of the stuff, even something as simple as clothing adds up really fast.

Here, the standard for insurance is that the contents of a house is equal to half of what the house is worth. Seems a bit unreal until you've actually gone through the process.

Look after yourself. No one else will.

If you want to be safe put all gasoline in a metal cabinet. Ask insurances company how much gas you can have on hand. Remember its there business to save money and screw us
