Has anyone had any experience with tiedowns attached to the engine guards with the XC? As a full-time RVer I travel pulling my Toyhauler and call home wherever I park. This will be my first trip with my 2013 XC and was thinking of purchasing the a pair of tie-downs offered by Kuryakin. Any thoughts or advise is welcomed.

I'm not familiar with Kuryakyn's tie-down straps. If you're looking to buy straps, you might want to consider these three specialized, enhanced, straps, depending on your needs:

I don't have a trailer, but I have a friend with one, who does a lot of towing of his large Valkyrie Tourer. He settled on that Erickson model (second link) -- two pairs of them -- as they're extremely robust and they eliminate flapping-in-the-breeze ends (or the need to tape ends, so they don't flap).

Front tie-down point is around the fork tubes above the lower triple tree on each side. Rear location is around the swingarm on each side, just behind the engine. Don't use the handlebars... they aren't rigid enough like many other cycles because of the pullback and/or mounting method.

Perhaps I wasn't clear when asking my question. I am aware of the tie down points on the 2013 XC according to the manual. My question is, does anyone have any experience with the custom tie-down brackets that Kuryakin sells which attach to the engine guards. Here is the link to the brackets:

I am concern if the tie down point on the floor of the trailer is too forward using the points stated in the manual might cause damage to the fairing as you tighten down the straps.

I am sorry, but I do not have any experience with them.

My question is why would you want to use them when a soft-tie on the lower triple is what I have been using for years. I have towed 1500 miles at a time.
