Greetings. I have a 2005 Touring Cruiser with 15k miles that I bought recently. I was told that it has stage 1 performance exhaust, and it has an Arlen Ness II tuner installed. This is my first experience with a tuner, so please excuse my lack of knowledge on the subject. The bike ran great when I got it a few months ago. I should have been suspicious when the former owner said to replace the plugs if it started misfiring. It started running very rich and fouling the plugs every time I rode it. I backed the tuner down to what is supposed to be equal to factory settings. It’s not fouling the plugs anymore, but still runs a little rich judging by the soot and smell coming from the exhaust. My question is, will it affect the performance in a negative way if I pull the tuner off completely? I’m not looking to outrun anyone or have the baddest bike in town, I just want it to run well and be reliable. Any input from you guys would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance.
