Ghost Rider, my 03 was doing the EXACT same thing. Did everything thats recommended and still stumbled...finally took it to my Vic mechanic.....he hooked it up to a laptop and did an analysis, and we could see that the TPS was whacked. Cheap fix, but getting to that sucker is a bitch. The bike should be dyno'd in afterwards. At least thats what he recommended...it's worth the 50 bucks. Hope that helps.

Actually the mechanic has his own shop. He used to have a Vic dealership, but sold out due to high insurance cost ect...so now his rates are much lower than a dealer. He has a dyno right there! Lucky me. You can replace the TPS yourself, but forget trying to remove the airbox...won't come out. Got to go in from the side somehow. Sorry I'm not more help...can't remember what he had to remove for access. I just know I tried from atop and couldn't get airbox out of the way. Then took it to him. I'm sure it will run well enough before dyno to take somewhere.

And I'm not positive it HAD to be DYNO'd...but know it has to be dialed in somehow...or should. He just gave me the works, since it was right there. I can ask him for sure what HAS to be done....have to talk to him anyway soon.

Ghost Rider. Talked to my Vic mechanic last night. He said all you HAVE to do after TPS replacement is the Throttle Point Reset. It tells tps where zero and full throttle are. That's it! He just did the dyno on mine to optimize performance. Have at it!

I've swapped out throttle bodies with the air box in before. When I get home I'll take a look to see if I remember how I did it. Wanna say when you unbolt the box you should be able to move the TB and get to the TPS easier.

I never thought of that! Would be easier. BTW Speeddemon, I'm moving out your way....Chattanooga next year...sick of living in the artic! How long is your riding season out there? And hows the hunting? LOL

I love the pipes, I think they look awesome and sound awesome. They're pretty loud too. They were chrome once, but they were discolored even when I bought the bike. I got tired of gold pipes so I wrapped them lol. What brand are the ones you found on eBay? And are they used or new?
The ones I found were the RPW, brand new. I currently have a set of double D slip ons that sound pretty good, but love the slashed look. 800 bucks is alot to spend though....for a guy on a tight budget that is. LOL.

Riding varies but you can roll from March to November with gear. My brother rode year round for a awhile. Hunting wise, to my understanding it is pretty good. You've got deer, turkey, and boar. I don't have the time to get out for hunting. You will, I know for sure, enjoy the riding. Give me a shout when you get here. I'm 2 hours of very nice road from Chattanooga.

Will do! Actually we are also considering the Cookeville area as well. What do you think is the more family friendly area? Will be looking for riding partners!

I went to go put the old sensor back on and noticed a broken wire on the map sensor. Fixed the wire, and it helped a little but it still ain't right. I'll put the old sensor back on when I can and go from there
Sounds like you got my kinda luck. Yea I would double check connections and all that...but also make sure those little rubber nipple things are on the the throttle body and it aint sucking air.
