Over the Thanksgiving weekend I decided to trailer my XC down to the gulf for a long weekend. I wanted to traier the bike because of unpredictable weather conditions. I'd bought a nice Alumna MC10 and planned to use the nice Victory cover. Well after a few miles on the interstate the cover had blown up over the front twice so I decided to just take the cover off. When I got to Destin I noticed several places on the fairing that were "blemished" by the flapping of the cover. So far I haven't been able to get them out. I had a nice thick coat of yellow wax on it before, but the really fine scratches may be a deeper than that. Just wanted to warn everyone else.
I will say that this bike gets stares and looks of awe everywhere I go. We stopped at Hog's Breath to get a bite and saw another black XC in the parking lot. Looked nice - the two of them next to each other. The owner was from Canada and we spent a bit talking about the XC and what a great bike it is. He'd ridden his down from Canada to Florida.
Oh well, any suggestions on getting the scratches out of the fairing are appreciated.

Being a hobbyist detailer for 25+ years I can tell you that with everything I've tried the Menzerna lineup is the BEST!!

I use it with the Porter Cable 7424 random/orbital buffer. It does FANTASTIC work.

For scratches and just bad paint I do the 3 step process.
They've changed the names but here are the steps for me;
1) Intensive Polish
2) Fine Polish
3) FMJ or NXT wax.

You can purchase them here. http://www.properautocare.com/menzerna.html

Here are some pics of a customers V92 CC that I did.

Trailering

Wildpew, I know the bike can take it, it's me I worry about :) nWe did end up riding about 30 miles thru some cold and driving rain. Luckily we had rain gear. Just picked the wrong damn time to visit north Florida. Now we're soaking in the north Georgia area. I think I need to move to San Diego or somewhere it's more temperate year round.

California is 9th, while Nevada's 18th among US states when ranked by median household income. How's California the Welfare State? View attachment 1139

Hater! :p
Well, I gotta say, I have a small business here in Gerogia and I produce a small event in Santa Clara every year. The state of California bends me over without a kiss or dinner for taxes on this one small venture. I love the costal area north of SF and south of Monterey, but it is damn expensive to live or do business there.
Maybe the answer is to get a place in Key West and a place in the Tn. mountains and split time (neither state has income tax). :ltr:
