I have an 02 V92C Deluxe and has anyone had any transmission issues?
I am thinking about selling it and upgrading to the Cross Country LE and I want to be right upfront with prospective buyers. I have had the bike just a little over a year and have not put on that many miles. I talked to my local Vic Dealer and he suggest I listen for strange noises
and pay attention to the way it acts. I just don't know what is normal and what isn't.

I know the 99-00 bikes had trans issues. They are supposed to have fix it in 01.Although, a lot of people still say to upgrade to an 03 Freedom motor and trans and have a far superior trans and a great motor. If you are truly contemplating getting an LE, there is no time like the present. trade that thing in before it gets too bad. The '02 trans was suppose to be ok, but I still see a post every once in a while with trans problems in an 02 or older scoot.

I have been told by some of the best Victory techs out there that by 2002 Victory had the transmission problems worked out. In 2001 they had the problem ironed out but got a batch of soft third gears. victory addressed the soft third gear with the Cush drive for select vin numbers of the 2001 models. The main difference between a 2002 and 2003 transmission is the gearing ratios. They made the gear ratio a little higher(? meaning you can run them out a little further before shifting) in the 03s. I dropped an 02 freedom motor in my V92Sc and love it, it fits my riding style perfect. I ride it hard at times and have had no problems at all with the transmission. I personally have heard of no failures that were not owner caused in the 02 and on bikes.
