Looks Good!

Nice! Sorta wish I would have done some research before I opted for the Victory rack installed at the time I purchased the bike. I like the one you have simply for supporting a bit larger bag, or, if nothing else strapping a couple jackets down across the rack on a hot day. The small rack does prevent one from overloading the trunk with more top-heavy stuff. Love the bike, and the color scheme. sheets

I hate the Victory luggage racks...they are horrible for trying to really strap on a big bag. I have a Dekker Supreme Bag made to fit the HD luggage rack, which I had on my Vulcan Nomad, so I bought one of those on eBay for about $80.00, including shipping (surely a Chinese knockoff). I had to bend each leg a bit to fit the contour of the trunk, and used some little chrome risers to raise it up just a tad, but it looks great and works like a champ. When the wife and I travel two-up on long trips, that bag weighs close to 20 lbs. and is as solid as a rock on there!

1) I have a rack from CycleOpsUSA, which is larger than the Vic rack, but not as large as the Kury.

2) Regardless of the rack, in case anyone hasn't done this, I recommend you go for bigger washers than are commonly supplied with racks. I went to a Lowes and bought 1.25" fender washers (and same-size flat rubber washers underneath those).

Larger washers will help distribute the load across more of the lid, and is a trivial change underneath. On top, looks matter, and outfits sell various "star" washers for this; on a prior bike, I had nice "pyramid" washers up top, underneath the legs, but these nice-looking washers are no longer made by the outfit I got them from (so on the Vic, I didn't add anything on top).

I too wish I would have done some research before just putting the Victory trunk rack on my bike. The Victory one does work, but the HD looking on would be a bit better.

With the load piled up with everything but the kitchen sink, the load is still way lower then my wife's shoulders. The trunk is 3/4th empty so we can put jackets and extra stuff in as we are traveling.

We did a ton of looking around before going with this rack. I had a Cobra rack on my Voyager and really liked it, but it didn't seem to fit the looks of the CCT. I did add the 1.25" fender washers underneath both this one and the last one too.
We use the rack exclusively for our tour cover and rain gear when traveling - gotta get at the gear quick sometimes. Pluto rides there all other times so no real heavy loads.
When on our week long trips we pull a trailer for our other stuff and for others riding in our group that may need a little extra space, so all the big stuff goes in there.
My next adventure is to install Big D Customs hitch I received a few weeks ago. And the wiring.
The weather is breaking! Ride safe.

I too have the Kuryakyn rack and I'm glad I did.
