My wife and I are planning to try to get out there this year, probably the last weekend. Are there any Victory groups there? A place where the Victory riders like to stay? We have never been to Sturgis so this is all new to us.
I've also read on a Harley forum that a lot of people like to go before or after the actual rally to avoid the crowds. Plus the camping or hotels are MUCH cheaper then. We have the 11th to the 15th open so we could make that last weekend, but could also go that next weekend. Any advise would be welcome.

MAN WHAT A RIDE, try to ride through the badlands out on 90 east of rapids city. wall drug is a great place to see.

This will be my 5th year in a row riding out to Sturgis. I personally enjoy the road trip, and the atmosphere is hard to describe. For the riders that prefer to go before or after to avoid the crowds, my guess is they experienced the Rally at least once and now want to ride in the Black Hills, just without the crowds. Sturgis is a lot different the other 50 wks of the year (more like a ghost town). I don't know your personality and what type of atmosphere you prefer. I recommend going at least once during the Rally....you won't forget it.

There is a big Victory ride originating from the Buffalo Chip during the week. I have not ridden in it but you can go to www.sturgis.com or www.sturgisrally.com to find out more info.

Good luck.

Agreed. Good advise.

However, the national annual Sturgis motorcycle Motorcycle Riders Bikers who are after their motorcycle rally and how to pack your gear for a long ride from the Flock is going to look when you neglect to volume, judging.
WTF are you jabbering about? This is the second post I've seen of yours today that is nonsense. :ltr:

My guess is you got an iPhone that has crazy 'auto-correct' going.

I've been twice. Once during a rally and once several months removed. It is very different experience. I'd love to do either again.

There are plenty of non-HD bikes there. Victory is generally represented well.

Well if you don't have a room line up you might be screwed. Rooms are booked a year in advance. Spearfish has a great camp ground with shade.
pick up one of theses maps so you will know the roads and how to get around. There free.
Most every one is out there for the same reason you are to have fun so don't expect any trouble except for the 1% stay away from them.
Your going to find the sturgis and the hills are one very addicting drug.

I think we're being led down the proverbial winding road. Rowan Atkinson is the name of the absurd English comedian who plays "Mr. Bean." Although he doesn't speak, I guess he (or someone of similar signature) responds on forums.

I don't know man, but that's the second time I've seen the mutterings of this mad man. Or mad machine. I just sit and scratch my head.:crzy:
