I have been interested in it, too, but am told that it won't exist until November. To me, based on life experiences, that means that there is really no telling when it will ever exist. It sounds like something that promises to be a great product, but I regard it as vaporware.

Sena makes several dongles so I doubt that this is vaporware.

If a product is available for ordering, so you can order it and then you get a tracking number for its delivery, then that is a product that exists and the vendor has it.

If an item is listed as available to ship in 1 to 3 days, then the vendor does not have the item but it has been promised to the vendor by the vendor's supplier. There is hope for this item.

If an item is any further out than three days before it will be shipped, then it does not exist. It may exist at some time in the future, but it does not exist now. Life is too dear to depend on anything in this category. If it actually comes into existence at some time, then that is a good thing, and it can be ordered.

This item is said to become available "in November", according to my dealer, who got this information from his Victory rep. That means that there is an idea for this product, but it has not been manufactured or not licensed for sale. If it had been manufactured and licensed for sale, then there is nothing that would cause it to be unavailable until November other than extreme gross incompetence -- and who wants to depend on that? It is not even certain that it has been tested or even designed -- only that it is being marketed. Life is too dear to depend on such things. If it comes, it comes.

Well, by law, if the site/dealership/whatever takes your money and they don't have an actual product, then they are committing fraud. If they place your order on back-order and charge you when it arrives, that's legal. I was going to purchase the dongle but when I looked at the expense for the accessories (Nolan Bluetooth receivers, microphone and internal speakers), I decided to wait.

Sena BT dongle

The item is available at motorworldracing.com.
I called and complained that there was not enough information concerning the product, so they said the would contact Victory for specifics.

Later!!

Thanks, but there is no motorworldracing.com . That address does not lead to a motorcycle site.

Thanks, that's got it. There was an extra 'r' in the earlier address.

I've sent in an inquiry asking whether the item is actually in stock and ready to ship. Another troubling development: there is another product called a dongle jumper. Its sparse description says that it is needed to attach the dongle. If that is true, then there goes another $70.

No answer from them all day. That doesn't bode well.

SENA BT dongle/jumper

All,
Spoke to Rick at SENA. he told me that those products are in the development stage.
He does not understand why they are being advertised at this time.
Told me he was contacting Vistory to discuss.

We will have to wait!!

Has anyone tried any of the "generic" BT dongles? I have an orange micro one from about 5 years just sitting in my drawer. It requires a USB interface though I have no idea if the stock XC has any such interface on it? I do not have the iPod option but ideally would want to connect my iPhone to the bike via BT anyway (rather than any type of hard link) so if someone can identify how the Sena ones connect to the bike (where they connect), and if it IS a USB port, then I will test out my iPhone using my Orange Micro BT and let you know how it goes.

PS - You can probably get the Orange Micro BT dongle for about $15 bucks so this could also be a great, cheap alternative...if there is a USB interface somewhere on these bikes...
