Warning light on speedo not working

2531 Views 6 Replies 4 Participants Last post by  luppy
Strange one. I have a 95 Vegas and the Red Engine Light is on most of the time and the Speedo stopped working. The strange thing is some times the light goes off and and the speedo works again. The light and the speedo seam to have a life of their own. I have checked everything I can think of and the bike runs great. Any ideas?
Thanks, Luppy.

Hopefully Kevin will chime in on this one. I've never heard of this although it sounds like some wires got crossed or you have a wire that may be exposed.
NO EXPERIANCE ON VICTORY...but from repairing a fair few Jap and Euro cars sounds like a speed sensor or sensor to speedo wiring fault...As Daimond said

Oh yeah the speed sensor!!! Totally forgot about that. That actually IS something that I've heard some previous bikes have a problem with.
Been out of town, and not had a chance to see what is going on. You need a new speed sensor PN 4011111 to fix it. This is an upgraded part that eliminates the problem from returning
