Anyone install them on your Gunner? I'm running stock bars and OEM heated handgrips. It was a little buzzy at 90 mph for 80 miles today.

Let me know what you bought and where from.

Thanks!

Still on the search for some nice, big weighted bar ends. I cannot believe how hard it is to find 1" versions... everything is 7/8" and the caps themselves are so small they're barely bigger around than the handlebars.

Anyone else use bar end weights?

I also want to replace those cheap plastic Victory caps as they keep working themselves off anyhow.

I know about the barsnake, but I'm not looking for that- I'm looking to replace the Victory end caps with some weighted bar ends which will:

1. assist in the small amount of vibration there is and
2. replace those crappy plastic caps

I'm needing to replace a cap also. It fell out. I just left it out.
Can you make a split plastic bushing to make those inexpensive caps work? or not likely?

Did you try wrapping the rubber part with rubber tape to take up the slack in size so they would stay put?

Iso grips and gloves, though I always wear gloves anyway.
My gpz900r came standard with weighted bar ends,
I just presumed they were to help limit tankslap effect of the Kwakas 16" front wheel.
So they supposed to help eliminate vibration hey?
Our bikes have rubber bush mounted handlebars and our engines run a balance shaft.
Interesting chapter in the 1998 book the Victory Motorcycle on vibration.
When the motor was designed the balance shaft was needed because our engines are solidly mounted to the frame as a stressed member for supreme handling.
This design dictated a balance shaft to avoid HDs paint shaker syndrome.
Well they could have rubber mounted but theyre building a better machine right..
Ok so they add a balance shaft and the engine becomes turbine smooth!
Like zero vibration!
Hey they said VTwin buyers want to feel some vibration!
They want to feel a throbbing V Twin lump underneath them.
They want 'some ' vibration.
So the engineers dialled in what they thought to be an acceptable degree of vibration.

Thats a fact.

It really is! Out here, during the week, there are long desert straights that are so boring you'd swear you will die of boredom but there's one good thing; the cops pretty much ignore speeders up to a point.

I've been tagged (read my license plate) doing 85 many times by unmarked highway patrol cars who continue on looking for real speeders in that 75 mph zone doing 90 mph plus.

I got pulled over once doing 86 mph. The unwritten rule is up to 10 mph is okay if the person isn't doing anything else wrong. I was 1 mph over. The highway patrol cop ran me and gave me a written warning. I think he gave me some slack for being a fellow veteran but that can't be counted on. I just got lucky.

There was a time someone who was driving my Corvette on one of these long straight stretches of road who wanted to see what the top speed was. It had some pedal left when "he" backed it down to the speed limit(ish). Just sayin'. The speed? 160. I really miss that car!

I suppose I could've come up with a mod to keep them in the bars, but then the actual visible ends were smaller than the grips as well. I'm wondering why I cannot find a 1" weighted end with a large visible "cap"?

I cannot be the ONLY person in history wanting this...?

You aren't. I looked sometime back and couldn't really find a good replacement for the cheezy plastic chrome Victory bar ends so I ended up putting the Kuryakyn ends with allowed me to lock a helmet to the bars.

I did just look to see if there was anything new since that time and it does look there are more options which say they will fit 1" bars. Have a look.

I'm pretty sure you need to be running Kury grips to use the Kury end caps. They have some nice grips for fair prices.

I do get your frustration though since I too went through it over the same issue.

FWIW, if you do get or have Kury grips, the throttle boss is a nice thing to have for long rides in keeping the throttle in place without having to put a death grip on the throttle.

I've got OEM heated grips, so the Kuryakyns are a no-go.

I'm just going to keep looking... Maybe I can find someone to MAKE them?
