I guess this could be related to the question: what wears out or fails on these Victory’s?

In 66,000 miles, have had to replace:
- the starter motor (or maybe just the starter clutch?)
- the tail light assembly on the trunk (if you have a trunk)
- the rubber pad on the side stand

Other than that, it’s been all about brake pads, brake rotor, brake fluid, gasoline, tires, a fuel filter (didn’t really need it).

My heated grips are looking worn, and will probably need to be replaced some time.

Blackbird will probably outlast me, and my wife will have to deal with selling her or give her to our son when I’m gone.

Couple years? Parts be around longer than that. I'm not worried about it myself.
Failures are rare.

Stuff like the heated grips I've seen the complaints they wear out but just switch to aftermarket.

I expect to enjoy the bike for a long time. :)

Yup I hear you Indy....I am hoping and thinking the same thing....just thought it could be interesting to hear from members of any parts having any issues...

My CC ( touching wood 8) ) hasn't given me a lick of problems...8)

The rear shock went out on my XR the first year (and less than 1,000 miles) but in the last 7 years the only thing that was worn out besides tires and brake pads is the heated grips I put on it. Just the clutch side on mine, throttle side is fine.

I have had the stator go out on mine but I do not think that's a common failure worth stockpiling. Just now I had the surprise of the front brake lever switch become intermittent, causing me to fail my annual inspection. Stupid part to fail, and not serviceable, but cheap enough and so easy to replace. I suspect if these ever became un-findable that some other aftermarket switch could fill its place but for now I found a couple parts places in minutes that had them in stock for about $35 shipped - then happened upon an eBay vendor called VicGuy (who has his own webstore VicGuy) dealing in take-off Victory parts for less. I got the switch used for $20 delivered, sent the next day from Tennessee which is on my same end of the nation so it got here quick, and couldn't be happier with the vendor. I highly recommend them for a future parts resource.
