having looked at the filtron website i think there are a different company manufacturing the Wix 51356 alternative. I have therefore purchased the original Wix to be on the safe side. Cheers All

I wonder if the Filtron in the UK is the XP Wix in the USA...

Maybe there was some kind of patented name issue so they had to call it something else. If this is the case then the Filtron Wix would need to be used with synthetic oil just like the XP filters.

I agree; stick with the original Wix. The Filtron may be too restrictive for semi-synth oil.

Careful; that's the wrong part number. The last two numbers are reversed. The correct link for these 12 filters is below.

The good news is those will still work. They are a match with the 51356 filters.

Am I hearing correct?
Synthetic, semi- synthetic, and mineral oils
need different types of oil filters???
Do we have any solid evidence on that?
