I haven't shopped, I mean really shopped for a bike for years. My last three purchases were all Gold Wings-pretty much because I assumed nothing else compared. But now, I've got the V-Twin fever and have my sights pretty much locked on a 2012 XCT.

In the process of researching the XCT, I found a few tidbits of info I didn't want you guys to miss. Both passages are quoted verbatim from the respective sites. I am especially interested in having the dealer demo the XCT's rollover protection!

New inspiration with the release of Victory Cross Country Tour motorcycles that have quality products that are not in doubt because it has done several experiments are very convincing, besides touring type bike in this highly enjoy doing by the bikers.

The lower bars are mounted on tubular chrome highway that provide rollover protection.

Methinks they have their vernacular mixed up with "tip over" protection. ;)
You are so right BBob. Those crash bars really do a fine job of protecting bike and rider. Here's my 1,000 words....

well..i am not looking to test mine out..

but at least the fella that smacked you seems likely to have insurance....
Bike and rider only received scrapes and bruises. Driver was an 18 year old girl on the cell phone - illegal here - and yes, she (her dad) had very good insurance. I now have a slush fund I have set aside for my bike activities and purchases. Not a great amount (under 5 figures) but it eases my mind about the incident. Bought many of the goodies in my signature with that money. cheers
