Odd smell from King Pin

On occasion, when I first start my motorcycle or when it is idling, I can smell an unpleasant odor that smells a lot like a fart. The smell lasts for 30 seconds or so and then goes away. It will also go away immediately if I rev the motor.

I run 93 octane in the tank and it doesn't appear to make any difference what brand fuel that I am running.

Any idea what to check or does anyone else experience this/is it normal?

Hi,
If your bike has a catalytic converter in the pipes it can cause the awful egg smell...put loud pipes on and hurt ears instead of noses :)

I believe the 2006 and newer Victory models have catalytic converters. When they go bad, they smell like rotten eggs or farts. Someone with more knowledge might be more helpful here, but if not, this might steer you in the right direction.
