I read this morning that the TV show will introduce Victory's to the lineup next season. Something about getting tired of giving Harley free advertisment.
I say its a dam good idea and I cant wait to see how it all plays into season 5.

@sutterink: Introducing VICTORY & other great US-made bikes on SOA in S5. Tired of giving Harley free advertising. Time to give folks an HD alternative.

Should be interesting. Does anyone have a better link or know the group name it is posted on?

I am not a 1%er and my knowledge is limited to TV, websites, and seeing them at rallies. To the best of my knowledge, 1%ers don't ride anything but Harleys.
The overwhelming majority of them do. However, they're only required to ride an American motorcycle. So, Excelsior-Henderson, Victory, Indian, etc. I still find it funny that the major players for mass produced motorcycles in the US (i.e. US companies) are all from the north. HD is in Wisconsin. Indian was based in Massachusets, now MN. Excelsior Henderson started in MN and then went to Chicago. And, of course, Victory here in MN as well.

If memory serve me well at all....
Somewhere i saw a video interview with Arlen and in it he said Sonny came to him and asked for a custom built Victory, and that they had been long time friends.

Now i need to try and find that link to make sure.

At the mid point between every season this comes up somewhere on the web. I think it is all wishful thinking. It isn't free advertising for Harley; they supply the bikes to the show. Every season I watch and hope to see a Kingpin, but I am not going to hold my breath.

They dont supply the bikes. The studio leases or owns those biikes. They dont say this every season. Kurt Sutter came forward on Twitter and FB and said that he will be giving Victory a spot in season 5 since HD will not cut them any deals despite getting 4 seasons worth of free advertising. He is either doing this to showcase other bike brands because he likes them or just to get Harley to play ball.

I cant say he is wrong, I wonder how much the harley sales have increased because people who like the show think they will become insta cool if they go out and buy a Dyna.

A deal has been signed between 20th Century Fox Consumer Products and Bartel’s Harley-Davidson in Marina Del Rey, California for the production of 100 limited edition motorcycles that will retail for about $25,000 each at Harley dealers this fall. Although no details have been given about how these bikes are going to look, it’s not difficult to guess their paint jobs inspired by the logo and strongest images of the TV show and a few “gimmick” accessories like ape hangers, just to make you feel…like you are a riding outlaw. Sons Of Anarchy is now the most-watched TV series in FX’s history among viewers 18-49 with a total average of 5.5 million watching each episode. It was also the number three DVD release among TV shows in 2011.

About to enter its fifth season, FX has already committed to the show through the seventh season, and because the overall audience is expected to grow during the next 2 years, a flurry of licensing deals are being signed in the US & abroad. If at one time you cringed at all the WCC and OCC merchandising, for the holidays be prepared for an invasion of SOA apparel, riding and fighting/boxing gear, die-cast motorcycles, stationary, posters, stickers, trivia games, coffee mugs, etc in a shop near you. Everything to turn your home into a club house to live the life of an outlaw 24/7.

Jeffrey Godsick, president of 20th Century Fox Consumer Products explains: “There are different audiences buying the products. They range from the show’s fan base to people who just like the counter-culture biker attitude to people who are weekend bikers.” Sons Of Anarchy is already a hit in the U.K., Germany, The Netherlands, Australia and New Zealand,

I don't wish any harm on anyone who rides, but really what kind of person would buy a Sons of Anarchy bike? The biker community already frowns on Sons of Anarchy shirts and other items from the show, along with Black Label Society paraphernalia.

What's next, a set of Sons of Anarchy "colors" that you can buy and ride around with? If so, someone might get hurt.

Dont worry about wearing your shirt no one is going to rip it off your back. First Cooperstown is the name of the restaurant Alice Cooper owns here in Phx so no territory is being claimed. Secondly its not a patch and isnt claiming any colors. Thirdly nowhere on the shirt does the MC letters appear. Its the same thing as all the SOA shirts they sell. You might get the stink eye from people who know no better but trust me anyone in a MC knows the local clubs and what to look for. cheers

Any three piece patch means something. The problem is the bottom rocker indicates what area you claim. No matter if it's a fictitious club or not, other clubs who claim the same area will take exception if you haven't cleared it with them first. If it is a fictitious club I doubt very highly that your "brothers" will have your back when the real club pulls you over to rip your "colors" off your back.

Just remember that their colors mean as much to the 1%er's as Ol'Glory does to a Veteran.

I'm not saying I agree or disagree just what I understand the facts to be. From what I can tell the MC is as close to a family as most of these guys ever had. Same can be said for the youth in street gangs.

For me wearing a fictious patch on my back is not worth it. But hey that's me. Besides I always were my CMA back patch anyway :D

I generally wear nylon based materials that are waterproof and well ventilated. I did however buy a Victory leather jacket recently. It is well made, one of the few catalog items from Victory that is not absurdly overpriced, and my favorite part is it has huge zippered vents front and back.

It also has some biker styled Victory emblem embossed on the back. Not anything I particularly care about, but the thought that there are people out there who might assault me for wearing it is a little unsettling. So far so good.

Another paradox is that I'd be the first guy to pull over and help a stranded motorcyclist/biker regardless of their attire.

Weather you think it is silly or not. Some probate out there; looking for his rockers. Will start **** with the least bit of provocation. For the most part if you look like a Buffy or Biff; wearing some TV based crap. They won't mess with you. However if you look like a real wannabe, and you are wearing it to look like a badass. You may end up beaten and naked. Just a fact of life in the real world of bike clubs.
